How I Got Here
I am originally from Upstate, NY, and spent a few years in NYC before moving to Austin, TX, where I now call home. I earned my bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2015 and was led to User Experience Design (UXD) shortly after. I have spent the last four years as a UX Designer designing mobile apps for iOS & Android. Now, I am taking my talents to interiors and have found myself as an In-Person Interior Designer at Havenly for Austin, Texas residents.
A Little About Me
I love all facets of creativity, art, and design. From a young age, you could always find me with a colored pencil or making animals out of pipe cleaners. If one thing has stayed true as I've grown, it’s my love for using my hands to create. I’ve spent the last four years in the corporate world learning the intricacies and best practices of mobile app designs and delivering end-to-end UX for iOS and Android platforms. I’d love to gain more UX experience in the future, or somehow combine my two passions. I incorporate design thinking into everything I do, and I have pride in my ability to think like an artist and a designer.
It has been fascinating to experience the design process of multiple industries and see how they overlap. The functionality and design of the interiors have entranced me after buying my first home two years ago. I love having a personal canvas to make my visions a reality and executing DIYs around my own home. I'm always knee-deep in at least three side projects around the house simultaneously (e.g., flipping a piece of furniture, designing a new pattern for wallpaper, or crafting fun cocktails for family and friends). Additionally, I stay extra busy with freelance floral design and bartending gigs. You can keep up with my home journey and DIYs on Instagram @thekaitcollectives.
